TKI Hrastnik d.d. is a joint stock company engaged in the development, production and processing of basic industrial chemicals, special chemicals, fine chemicals, manufacture of products for retail trade.

In 2001 TKI Hrastnik d.d.  set up a subsidiary RASTKI, d.o.o. with its head office in Hrastnik and providing employment to disabled staff.Human resources management, security services, catering, cleaning and other auxiliary services are also provided for TKI Hrastnik by RASTKI d.o.o.

There are two main production lines, namely basic chemicals production including chlor alkali electrolysis plant with annual production of chlorine and caustic soda about 15.000 tons each, and phosphate plant with annual capacity of 20.000 tons of STPP and 5.000 tons of other phosphates.  We are the sole producer of sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, hypochlorite and chlorine in Slovenia.

General consumer goods program includes household cleaners, laundry detergents, food additives, and fine chemicals.

Our experience and research work have enabled us to explore new possibilities for processing our basic chemicals and create a wide assortment of general consumer goods. We  classify our product groups according to three profit centres: 

• PC PHOSPHATES:  production of sodium, potassium , ammonium orthophosphates and polyphosphates, calcium phosphates (feed grade), food additives
• PC CHLOR ALKALI PLANT: caustic soda, chlorine, hydrochloric acid, hypochlorite
• PC FINISHED PRODUCTS: powdered and liquid detergents, household and industrial cleaning agents, liquid mineral fertilizers
  

PC PHOSPHATES

The STPP plant started operating in 1962, the production program has expanded during years and has oriented also in the production of various phosphate salts.

 Manufacture of chlor alkali electrolysis products by the process of electrolysis of sodium chloride solution by mercury cells started in 1962.
In 1966 a new, modern plant was constructed, using membrane process which made the manufacture of chlor alkali products environmentally friendly.The plant was renewed and modernized in 2008, while  the construction of calcium chlorides production plant  is nearly completed.

PC FINISHED PRODUCTS

In 1970 first attempts towards processing chemistry were made by introducing cosmetics production, at first under licence agreement with French company Diparco and later we developed our own brands. More decisive orientation towards processing chemistry was the production of powdered and liquid household agents in 1985, and few years later of laundry detergents.
